On Friday 9 June, Twan Hakvoort, owner of hotel, and restaurant grandcafé ‘t Voorhuys in Emmeloord, passed his ‘Meesterproef SVH Meesterhorecaondernemer’ (literal translation: SVH Master Hospitality Entrepreneur test). This makes Twan Hakvoort the second hospitality entrepreneur in the Netherlands to achieve this title, and the 300th ‘SVH Meester’ in the Netherlands. This master’s title guarantees the highest level of professionalism in the field of hospitality entrepreneurship.

The title ‘SVH Meesterhorecaondernemer’ is a way of making quality visible and stimulating quality delivery. The master has an exemplary function towards employees and other entrepreneurs, and developing others is important. If an entrepreneur wants to grow, which is a prerequisite for excellence, it takes several employees in the company who feel responsible. In addition, an excellent entrepreneur also has a responsibility towards the young intake, which is good for the future and society.
