On Thursday, 3 April 2025, professional doctorate (PD) candidates in the LTH domain gathered at Hotel Management School Leeuwarden (HMSL) for a themed day on sustainability.
The PD programme is a personalised research and design track offered by the Graduate Network, which comprises seven affiliated Dutch Universities of Applied Sciences in the LTH domain. This programme equips candidates with the skills to address complex real-world challenges. While equivalent in level to a PhD, the PD focuses on applied research.
As part of the dedicated PD educational programme Current Issues in LTH, one day is specifically devoted to sustainability. This year’s session was hosted by Elena Cavagnaro, Professor of Sustainability in Hospitality and Tourism at NHL Stenden, with support from Frans Melissen, Transversal Professor of Sustainability Transitions at BUas.
