The Academy of Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences has received international recognition, with two academic journals connected to the university included in the 2025 Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) Journal Quality List.
The Journal of Tourism Futures has been upgraded from a C to a B ranking, reflecting its growing academic impact, research quality and international relevance. Known for its forward-looking perspective, the journal focuses on strategic developments and emerging themes in tourism research.
In addition, Research in Hospitality Management has been included in the ABDC list for the first time, receiving a C ranking. This marks an important milestone in the journal’s development and growing visibility within international academic evaluation frameworks.
Ian Yeoman, Professor of Disruption, Innovation & New Phenomena at NHL Stenden, co-editor of Journal of Tourism Futures and editorial adviser to Research in Hospitality Management, said: “We are proud of this recognition.
