We are pleased to invite chapter proposals for our forthcoming edited volume, 2075: The Future of the Hotel Bedroom, to be published by Channel View Publications as part of the Future of Tourism series.
This book explores the hotel bedroom as a transformative space—technologically, culturally, and experientially—projecting its evolution to the year 2075. From intelligent, adaptive environments to feminist perspectives on labour and service, the volume will critically examine how the hotel bedroom may evolve as a site of innovation, rest, identity, and hospitality.
We welcome abstracts (300–400 words) for chapters that align with one of the following four themes:
- The Intelligent and Adaptive Bedroom – exploring AI, claytronics, modularity, and biometric personalization.
- Design, Aesthetics, and Architecture – focusing on biophilic design, programmable surfaces, and sleep-enhancing environments.
- Labour, Housekeeping, and Service – addressing automation, emotional labour, and feminist critiques.
- Cultural, Behavioural, Sleep, and Other Perspectives – examining the bedroom as a psychological, cultural, and liminal space.
