Our alumna Gabriella Esselbrugge (cohort 1997) put Giethoorn on the international tourist map. The village receives hundreds of thousands of tourists each year, and every effort is made to engage all stakeholders within the region. For trade journal Hospitality Management, she gave an interesting interview on the social engineering of tourism.
