Two alumni of Hotel Management School Leeuwarden, Reno Wiertz and Siebe de Roos, have been nominated for the Franchise Starter Award 2026 with their concept Down to Earth Dining at the National Franchise Congress.
The concept began during their internships in Sydney, where they developed it in their spare time. Today, Down to Earth Dining offers a vegetarian fine-dining experience focused on fresh, seasonal ingredients and sustainable cooking. Each multi-course menu highlights local produce and creative culinary techniques, delivering a dining experience that is both delicious and responsible. (downtoearthdining.com)
