We are excited to announce that Dr Hanneke Assen has been officially appointed as the Lector of International Hospitality Education. This recognition builds on her successful role as Associate Lector, marking an important step in her leadership within hospitality education research.
Hanneke has played a key role in shaping both research and education at Hotel Management School Leeuwarden. She has been dedicated to connecting education with the hospitality industry, promoting lifelong learning, and improving hospitality education. Her efforts have further strengthened our focus on Design Based Education and addressed the changing needs of our students, educators and the hospitality sector.
As Lector, Hanneke will continue to lead the Professorship of International Hospitality Education. She will focus on creating valuable learning experiences, looking at the long-term impact of educational concepts, and strengthening the connection between education and industry. She also plans to broaden the concept of hospitality by working with other sectors, ensuring our education remains forward-thinking.
