The professors’ platform Hospitality, Tourism, Innovation & Technology Experts Network has been granted a subsidy of 100,000 euros by the SIA. HTIT-EN brings together researchers from five universities of applied sciences in the field of tourism and hospitality.

The Professors of technology and innovation in the Dutch hotel schools (Hotelschool The Hague, Hotel Management School Maastricht, Breda University of Applied Sciences, Saxion University of Applied Sciences, NHL Stenden) have created a network for futures research about technological disruption and innovation asking the research question:

How can the Dutch hospitality and tourism sector, which has a profound societal presence and encompasses a diverse range of workers and stakeholders, leverage its transversal character to generate extensive societal impact through the utilization of emerging technological innovations?

In 2025, the group will initiate a series of scenarios and workshops about the future of the hospitality sector beyond 2050 focusing on disruptive and transformational change.

Professor Ian Yeoman said:
If you think today is about exponential change in technology, this is nothing compared to tomorrow. The new platform allows researchers and partners to make sense of the future for the betterment of industry and future innovations.
